Step Inside the Curve: An Invitation to Within the Spiral

There’s something about a spiral that always pulls me in. It doesn’t rush. It doesn’t move in a straight line. It unfolds slowly, intentionally, just like we do.

Within the Spiral was born out of that feeling.

This exhibition is deeply personal, but it’s also meant to be shared. It’s an open door. A pause. A space where you can breathe, reflect, and maybe even see yourself a little differently.

Why the Spiral?

The Golden Spiral appears everywhere—in nature, in our bodies, in galaxies, in shells, in flowers. Long before I began consciously working with it, I realized my life and my creative process mirrored it. Growth hasn’t been linear for me. It’s been layered. Circular. Sometimes quiet, sometimes expansive. Always returning me back to myself.

This body of work explores that idea: that transformation doesn’t always look like forward motion. Sometimes it looks like returning with more understanding than before.

What You’ll Experience

Within the Spiral is an immersive collection of paintings created with acrylic, mixed media, and gold leaf. Texture plays a big role here—because life isn’t flat, and neither is growth. Some pieces shimmer softly. Others feel grounded and earthy. Each one carries intention, reflection, and a sense of becoming.

This is not an exhibit you rush through.

I want you to take your time. Stand close. Step back. Let the curves and layers speak to you. There’s no right or wrong way to experience the work—just your way.

A Personal Note

As an artist, educator, and mother, creating this exhibition felt like a homecoming. It represents trusting myself more deeply, not aiming for perfection, but for honesty. Some of these pieces came together quietly over time. Others arrived all at once, almost demanding to exist.

One of the most special moments for me? Watching my daughter be inspired by the work and create her own version. That, to me, is the magic of art,

how it ripples outward, touching lives in unexpected ways.
